Mission
Our goal is to help young people achieve their full potential. We do this by making substantial annual grants to Crivitz Youth, Inc. in Wisconsin, which was the original purpose of our founder; and by supporting organizations whose mission is to provide ongoing education, enrichment and/or health benefits to children and youth located in Monterey County. We may also fund significant youth-oriented projects of other Monterey County organizations.

Application Process:
We accept applications twice a year on the third Friday in February and August. Organizations can apply during either cycle, but they must have completed any previous grant before applying.

To receive an application, send us an email or call (831) 375-3311.

Application Deadline 2024:
Spring Cycle: February 16th
Fall Cycle: August 16th

All Applications due by 5 p.m.

Important Applications Notes:

  • Late proposals are not accepted for any reason
  • All applications must be received by 5 pm on the application deadline
  • We prefer for applications to be emailed to grants@nbrfoundation.org as one continuous PDF document
  • If you can’t make one PDF, please mail the application to PO Box 749, Monterey, CA 93940
  • Do not send emails over 10 MB
  • The grants@nbrfoundation.org email will send an autoreply to let you know that your email has been received
  • We will email you within three weeks to let you know if the application is complete and eligible for review

Once an application is submitted, we will contact you if we have any additional questions on the application. The full board reviews the applications and decisions are made in early May (Spring Cycle) and late October (Fall Cycle).

Eligibility:

We accept one application* per calendar year from:

  • Crivitz Youth, Inc.
  • 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or public agencies serving Monterey County children, youth and/or families

If your organization received a previous NBRF Grant, all final evaluations must be turned in prior to submitting a new application

*Organizations who serve as a fiscal sponsor to non-501(c)3 organizations or informal groups may submit more than more application per calendar year. A memorandum of understanding between the Fiscal Sponsor and the organization is required.

  • One-time events (concerts, field trips, etc.)
  • Fundraising events and sponsorships
